  51. I’ve just recently been warned about listening to Chris Tomlin, to use discretion over who I’m allowing to “lead me” in worship. I was disappointed and concerned because I have enjoyed singing to the Lord using songs by him. I’m saddened by the focus of his various sites, it’s all about him. I guess because of the nature of the songs I thought he himself would be sold out for Christ, that his site would be plastered with the good news of Jesus Christ, that Christ alone would be lifted up in glory, but instead He’s more of a hidden, side-note kind of effect. In fact, I wasn’t even able to find any saving message at all.
He who loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
Friendship with the world in enmity with God.
If you deny Me before men I will deny you before my Father in heaven.
Just a few verses that come to mind as I’m mourning over the “glory” of these sites - Chris Tomlin himself.

  59. Lisa, i have to disagree with you on this. Chris doesn’t mean for this site to be all about him. and the focus of Chris’ songs are all about the Lord. have you ever been to any of Chris’ worship services? i have been to several of them. and every one of them is annointed with the presence of God. i have never been nor ever will be disappointed with Chris’ musice because it is a gift from God. none of the focus is suppose to be about man, and Chris can tell you that. my Dad can also because he is also a worship leader. and i would like to know what sites you are going on because every one of them that i visit is very encouraging, in a Godly way. and Chris, if you read this, don’t be discouraged. God is with you. He’s been with you from the beginning and He’ll never leave you. trust in Him and never let go of Him. i’m praying for you and the whole Passion Team. be Blessed!!!

Lisa, although I have noticed a big change in almost EVERY site I have visited lately, it hasn’t been what Chris Tomlin has said that has changed but what other people are writing. (I mean, look at the strange jargon on this site!!!) Satan will do all that he can to destroy something that has been meant to bring God’s people together. I have to agree with Serena - I don’t believe Chris is trying to focus on anyone other than God. Now, as far as some of the comments being made about Chris on any site, remember what Jesus said to the Pharisees, John 8:7 - “If any one of you is without sin, let him be the first to throw a stone…” Remember, we are ALL sinners. As Christians, we shouldn’t condemn one another but lift each other up in prayer. Blessings…

  70. Hi Chris, Let me tell you how inspiring your music is. Last year my 11 year old Son picked Amazing Grace My Chains are Gone, for his dance solo. He competed this piece at several dance competitions and received many high score awards. But that is nothing compared to the response he received from the audience. He was contacted to share this piece at several local area churches. Your song combined with his heartfelt dance skills moved so many people. What a wonderful way for my Son to share his gift with others. What I find amazing is that he had a choice of many songs to dance to but when he heard this song on the radio, within 8 seconds his said he loved it and wanted to dance to it. I believe this song found him. He was so forunate enough to be able to share the word of God to so many…. I would love for you to be able to see his dance interpertation to this awesome song, but not sure how to contact you!

  72. Hello Chris, I would like to thank you, the band and everyone behind the scenes for coming to Toronto on Oct 3rd. That was a tough week for me as my former husband and I separated after 21 years of marriage and I moved out of the home on Sept 30th. Two of my friends from church in Bowmanville came expecting God’s presence. We were not disappointed as we had prepared our spirit for Him. I love the opening…”The enemy is defeated, death couldn’t hold Him down. I’m gonna lift my voice in Victory and make His Praises LOUD”. Your worship is warfare on the camp of the enemy !! The worship and praise of Jesus kept me focused on the One who is the Author and Perfector of my faith. Keep writing the songs that He gives to you and the band. This past weekend I was listening to your Christmas album and the words have blessed me in a new and beautiful way. I was washing dishes and praising God with yellow rubber gloves stretched to Heaven…..it took a long time to get those dishes done! As I looked out the kitchen window I watched the leaves on the ground dance as a fresh wind came. It made me think of how the wind of the Holy Spirit breathes fresh life into us….that is what He is doing to me in my Spirit, soul and body and He is using your Christmas album to do it. Please pass on my blessings and encouragement to Christy Nockels….God has given her a beautiful voice of praise…keep at it Christy. Also encourage Audrey Assad in the gift of music God has given her. The “Winter Snow” song is stunning! Christ is our Bread of Life, our Breath of Life and it is in Him that we live and move and have our being. We will Praise His Name Forever !! It has been 6 weeks since the separation and in spite of the turmoil it has caused in me and my 2 sons I know that the peace of God, which transcends understanding, guards our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. (Phil 4:7) and then, in time, comes the “triumphal procession and beautiful aroma” in 2Cor 2:14-15. God Bless Chris and gang, have a wonderful Christmas with your families. 75. Chris and band:
Once again the Lord has used the power of worship to touch my life as I listened to the new Christmas cd. This year has been eventful filled with some heartache beyond anything I can put in words. The cd once again put my focus where it should be, on the Lord Jesus Christ. Sometimes when the storms rage and we as human do not understand, we tend to forget who Jesus Christ is and the reason we exist, to bring glory to him alone. Over the years the Lord has used your music to speak to me again and again, remindin me who it is I devoted my life to so many years ago and who I made a passionate commitment to follow no matter what. I want to than you for following God’s call on your life, because the music God has entrusted you with to has stirred my life to the core. I want to encourage and tell you that I pray for the band constantly.
Keep giving the glory to God….it is inspiring others to do the same.
    God bless you

    Jenny

  96. Hi Chris, I just listened to the young trio of siblings - wow!! They’re so precious and sweet and have such AMAZING voices. Aside from that, I was so excited to find out that you were coming to Canada back near the end of the summer. It was really wonderful to be able to see you when you came to Edmonton (back in early Oct.) I just wanted to let you know how special and close to my heart that your music ministry is to me. I actually was first introduced to your music when I first heard your song “Made To Worship” back in 2006, (I actually ended up purchasing “See The Morning”). That song became very helpful and influencial back then. I’m going to be really honest w/ you and reveal to you that I struggle w/ Bi-Polar Disorder. Around the time that I started listening to your music, I was going through a really difficult time w/ my illness. I was also battling post-partum depression from the birth of my son. I was actually hospitalized for a short period that year. During the time that I was sick, I really struggled w/ my walk (w/ Christ). The enemy had really gotten a hold of my mind and was planting seeds of fear, confusion and doubt. It actually got so bad that I honestly came face to face (for the first time) w/ the devil himself - no kidding. So yeah, through it all, (along w/my humbling myself, kneeling on the spot where I was, and calling a nation-wide 24 hr. prayerline),God’s presence and power were unmistakeable! I can truly say that the Lord’s strength is made perfect in our weekness. You know, here I was as I was never before, face to face w/ my greatest enemy… but through it all, God’s grace was so abundant, so present. Saying all of this, I just really want to encourage you Chris to keep doing what you’re doing in His Name. You just never know who needs to hear what you have to give to the world through your voice and through the annointed words that He gives you to sing. Thanks for being such an inspration! May God continue to richly bless you and your ministry. ~ Erin :o)
