D.C.!

December 10, 2009

Yesterday was quite an opportunity. We were in NYC taping a Christmas special for Fox and Friends. It’s going to be aired prime time on Christmas Eve. From what i understand, Amy Grant and Andrea Bocelli will be on the show as well.
We did “joy to the world” and “emmanuel” with the Watoto Childrens Choir. If you have Hello Love then you already know who these amazing kids are. They are from Uganda. I am really excited about being in the living rooms of millions of households singing with these precious kids. I hope it moves many to find out more about them and get involved some way.

Looking forward to tonight in D.C.! Always love playing in this area. And YES, Christy is back with us. That will make it even better!

Minneapolis tonight!

December 7, 2009

It’s going to a great night.  We are fired up to be in Minneapolis tonight.  It’s always been a city that supports us like crazy.  Especially the radio station, KTIS.  thanks so much guys!

Here are a couple of pics from soundcheck today.  I think it is our coolest set yet in regards to the look and feel of the night.

Wisconsin tonight!

December 6, 2009

The tour is rolling into Milwaukee tonight. It’s been a good while since we’ve been here. Really looking forward to it. Definitely starting to feel a little more like a Christmas tour with some snow on the ground.
This is quite a crazy week for us. We are in Milwaukee, Minneapolis, Chicago and then head to NYC for a taping with Fox and Friends for their Christmas Eve show. Really excited about it. We are doing a couple of songs with the Watoto Childrens Choir. Will hopefully be a great opportunity to bring awareness to people all over the nation about Watoto and the great work they are doing. There is no better moment than Christmas for this! Very humbled by the opportunity.

Update on Christy… She is headed back home to Atlanta today and feeling a bit better. She will hopefully rejoin us out on the road this week.

peace,

chris

Christmas tour begins

December 4, 2009

Hey everyone. We are officially off and running (or should i say busing). The first two nights in Orlando and Tampa were incredible. I truly mean it. I know you expect me to say that, but it’s true. This has been a dream of mine for several years now. I am so proud of our amazing team. It’s really a beautiful night. And that most of the nights are already sold out blows me away. The response to the record, “Glory in the highest” has been overwhelming to me. I really felt that we had captured the spirit of these songs on the recording, but to hear how it is translating to people who are just now getting to hear it is so cool.

Of course what can you say about having Louie on tour.  What he brings to the night is invaluable.   Last night he walked into the crowd and picked a little boy to bring on stage.  When he asked him his name the boy replied without mentioning his name, “this is the best day of my life.”  it was priceless.  You can’t script things that good.

We are in Birmingham tonight!

So far the highlight of the first two nights has been the ending. And for those of you coming to the concert i won’t mention it here just yet.

Regretfully, Christy was not with us on the first night and not with us tonight in Birmingham. She has gotten pretty sick and we are hoping and praying for a quick recovery and that she will be back with us in the next couple of days. I hate doing this night without her. I feel like a quarterback who loses his best receiver. She just makes the night that much better. We affectionately call her the “queen.” Thanks for praying for her.

God bless you guys!
